UPDATE 20th April 2020

Obviously with the ever changing COVID-19 virus situation the Championship committee will try to keep you informed on any MSUK updates and how that will finally impact on the championship this year.

MSUK have instigated some amendments to the blue book rules which allow alterations to existing regulations without going through the usual resubmitting processes to assist Championships, but we have been in constant discussions with the MSUK Speed section to see what possible options we have open to us.

As the MSUK has delayed activities until the end of June, in the current regulations, we obviously currently only have 4 rounds left, and, a very difficult task of trying to postpone or replace any of the cancelled events due to Curborough’s existing full calendar.

We are also unsure of the impact on some of the individual competitors in terms of job situation, or the requirement to need to continue to self isolate, which would affect their ability, or even wish, to compete. We will take this into consideration in any decision made.

We are looking at all options, even a possible postponement of the 2020 championship, and to restart it in 2021, with, as far as possible the same organising club’s rounds and dates, subject to confirmation of resubmitted regs.

Until the MSUK decide on the restart date of UK Motorsport in general, and what options they are offering us we cannot make any decision, but will keep all the entrants updated when we have any news.

Although the Curborough Championship is, to many competitors, as much about the comradery than purely competition, and we obviously miss the social aspects, the bottom line is that people’s wellbeing comes way above any form of Sport, and extended continued social distancing appears to be the best way to control this virus at the moment. This will probably be the biggest impact on restarting most forms of gatherings.

We would like to offer our best wishes to all competitors and their families and hope you stay safe, and keep well.
