Student enrolment
The MSA is now accepting applications for the 2010 Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence (AASE) in Motor Sport from drivers aged 16-18 years old.
AASE is a government-funded human performance programme designed to help talented young athletes achieve their sporting potential. Students receive three separate qualifications within the AASE framework: a Level 3 NVQ in Achieving Excellence in Sports Performance; a Level 3 BTEC National Certificate in Sport (Performance and Excellence); and an MSA Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Motor Sport. Candidates have the option to continue studying for their A levels at school instead of taking the BTEC qualification.
The closing date for applications is 16 July, with the programme starting in August 2010. Visit www.msauk.org/aase for further information.
Yes Minister
The MSA has welcomed the appointment of Jeremy Hunt as Secretary of State for the Department of Culture, Olympics, Media and Sport and Hugh Robertson as Sports Minister of the new government. Both were guests of the MSA at the 2009 British Grand Prix

Conflict of interest?
The 2010 Formula 1 Santander British Grand Prix takes place at Silverstone from 9 to 11 July. Book your tickets from www.silverstone.co.uk. The World Cup Final takes place on 11 July and will be shown live on giant screens around the circuit.
Meanwhile, ahead of the grand prix 25 marshals won a tour around the McLaren Technology Centre through a competition on the Go Motorsport website .
LCAMC wound up
For many years, the London Counties Association of Motor Clubs (LCAMC) provided valuable services to support the clubs in its area. These clubs are now represented by adjoining Regional Associations and the LCAMC has been unable to fill vacant officer posts or to otherwise revitalise the association.
Consequently, the LCAMC was formally disbanded at an Extraordinary General Meeting last month and the remaining funds were distributed to charities, including the Motorsport Safety Fund.
